Robin Turner

Sometimes

a herky-jerky dance, defiant, rises up all at once in a grey grace, the underworld pulling at our feet, grasping, its dark fingerprints smearing the sky. Some of us make of our bodies lassos. We will rope this sky! Hold fast this rising! The crying out, the trying, the trying is so damn beautiful.
