Palestine in the News

Pittsburgh, Oct 2023 Say another bomb drops, & your world doesn’t end. You barbeque meat for dinner, inhale the scent of flesh. Step outside to streets lined with reddening leaves & splattered guts of pumpkin. Think of the little red bundle of girl mined from the rubble by men. Say you spend hours scrolling dating apps. Fuck the white man down the road, who has fallen for your caramel skin. Your body becomes a map, divided between human & animal, East & West. You sleep longer hours. You dream: Hansel & Gretel follow the bread crumbs home. Red Riding Hood emerges from the belly of the earth. Smiles & bobs her tiny head. When you wake up, all the children are dead.
