Amy Lee Heinlen is the author of the chapbook, All Else Falls to Shadow (Dancing Girl Press, 2018). In 2016, she was awarded an Academy of American Poets University and College prize and the Best Thesis in Poetry prize from Chatham University where she earned her MFA in Creative Writing for poetry and publishing. We try to pair the thread of your life but nothing grows — at least not for long. I drink the greenest apples, crushed, he thins, disappears into lye. This time lengthens alongside you. The rope you walk is slung tree to tree, branches reach, brush but end short of one another.
