You Will See

There is a nasty taste in my mouth Bile making its way up Caused by swallowIng toxic waste From toxic words Spewing from the mouths Of toxic leaders Backed up with an Arsenal Of toxic hate And marching just ain’t enough To cleanse the taste There is a nasty taste in my mouth From years of foul play Executed by those in blue Toxic through and through And petitions just ain’t enough To cleanse the taste Maybe waste in their face There is a nasty taste in my mouth Caused by swallowing the shit Spewing from the mouth of those Whose topic thoughts Only allows them to scream and shout Toxic slogans, outdated and rehearsed And one knee on the field just ain’t enough To cleanse the taste There is a nasty taste in my mouth Caused by cowards passing around Buckets filled with toxic dollars Spewing toxic lies Of promises they want keep And voting just ain’t enough To cleanse the taste There is a nasty taste in my mouth Caused by a lifetime of sweet words Just hold on You’ll see A lifetime of When the time is right You’ll see A lifetime of Be patient, our time is coming You’ll see A lifetime of the last will be first You’ll see Of we shall overcome You’ll see Of turn the other cheek You’ll see … This nasty taste in my mouth Fueled by a lifetime Of bull and shit Soaked in oak barrels Of lies and deceit Where holding up signs And honking horns And kneeling in prayer and even writing these poems Just Ain’t Enough To cleanse this taste This nasty taste in my mouth And a lifetime of … you’ll see.
