Recede

How foolish to honor the phases of the moon but ignore the wax and wane in your body. Listen to it. Stretch out your fingers, slowly, curve your back free, attempt a steady breath. Unmachine yourself, for a time — remove the phone, the laptop, the doubt. Do not read the comments. Do not watch the videos. Do not listen to the podcasts. Instead, remember the wave — its peace and its power. You are so much water. How could you not be a recurrence of cycles? So do your best, fail, do it again until some of it (any of it) breaks beneath you. But, before that, listen to your body. You will need this when you decide to rise again.
