Glass: A Journal of Poetry Volume Two Issue Two

super-continent
my brother dreams of Pangaea
plots chains pulling the tectonic plates
or tow trucks heaving pieces of planet
land would overlap
there would be no time zones
every time is now
even 1982
my brother dreams
of pushing the
continents together,
collapsing
the decades
into one second
they say
he doesn’t understand
metaphors, but
he is constantly making
them.
the geology of a family
anchored in Pangaea
&
“world in one neighborhood”
is never wanting to realize
that Dad doesn’t live here
anymore.
